Need help bypassing ground strap from engine to chassis with jumper cables

I think the ground strap to my engine has gone restrictive, which in return does not let me car start. I think I can test this by connecting jumper cables between my engine and chassis, but I don't know how to do this exactly. Could someone give me detailed specific guidance please?

Did you try the jumpstart location in the engine bay? I actually don't know if the negative terminal in the bay simply goes to chassis metal or if it routes through the same path(s) that the battery sees....

Can I just connect it between the positive and negative terminals?

If your ground strap has torn off then you will have no ground path for your starter. Basically the engine is isolated by rubber mounts.

You must use the "black side" jumper cable to somewhere like the oil filter housing , and the other "black side" jumper to the body frame like a shock tower.

The red terminals will not be used on this test.

Try to start your car.

I can still her a whirring from my fuel pump, does this mean that the ground strap is still connected?

No, the fuel pump has its own power and ground cables. Just use the black side of the jumper cable to connect your engine block to a chassis ground like the strut bolt or the ground stud by the coolant tank.
