Flat or FTM malfunction?
As some of you already know I got a flat tire last week.
Reference: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=flat+question Anyway, I got the tire replaced at the dealer, I drove it Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday.... however late tonight I got a "Flat Tire" message. I checked all tire pressure, they all were normal but the FTM was saying "tire puncture" as the status. I let it sit for a while and checked pressure again and all was well. I reset the FTM and drove about 10 miles and no sign of a "Flat Tire" warning message again. What do you guys think? Maybe after they changed the tire they didn't reset the FTM and it gave a false reading? |

That happened to me. Weeks ago, I got a warning, took it in, they gave me the car back. Next day, same time. So I take the car in, and there's a screw/nail in sidewall, get tire replaced, and got the car back(took 2 days for them to get a tire). I get the symbol again (can't remember how long) and take it in again. Apparently, they didn't "re-calibrate" and "reset" the FTM, so after they fixed it, all is well. Good luck.... hope you had tire warranty. Saved me $450. All this in Irvine, I think timzerofive had a flat too, in Irvine too? Too much construction going on.... *sigh*

Yeah my first tire replacement was $390 after install, I do have tire insurance, best investment ever at this rate.
So I'm assuming since it wasn't reset that is what is causing the warning.... at least I hope so I don't want to go to the dealer AGAIN!!! |
