Comfort Seats with Massage
Just spec'd these on my car, what are peoples thoughts and experience?
I went for the massage functionality because I'm a long distance runner and the thoughts of having a massage whilst driving to work appealed to me!

I haven't personally tried them, but its worth searching the forums as I have read a few people post that the extra parts in the seats (massaging/ventilated) make the seat less comfortable and make you feel like you're sitting 'on' the seat rather than 'in' them.
Again, I have no personal experience but I have read that a new times now on this forum and bimmerfest forums. |

Just checked - here we can have massaging without ventilation; all of the threads I have read have been by people in the States where massaging comes with ventilation, so its impossible to now if the issues were down to the ventilation parts or the massaging parts.
Here's a recent thread anyway: http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1380395 And this post is one I remember: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=16 BUT a lot of people also like them, so I guess you really need to try it for yourself. |

I have had them in the M6 and M5 and 535D M Sport without massage and they have been great in all respects, I have ordered again for the 540i M Sport XDrive in Nappa.

Have you ever tried comforts with massage? I had massage in an X5 once, but that was a 2011 car so not comparable with whats being made now.

Massage came with the package we ordered and actually it’s quite nice. It’s nowhwre near like a real massage chair. It’s more to keep your muscles moving and active so you reduce fatigue on longer journeys. |

Are you able to get to any BMW dealers? In the uk spec at least all 7 series have massage Comfort front seats. I'm not certain if they are the same seat but o tried then in the showroom.
They were amazing

If you're getting them for a massage, you might be disappointed. The main benefit is if you ever do any longer drives (long commute, road trips, etc.), it keeps your body moving just a bit and you don't get quite as stiff/sore.
On first reading about it, I thought it was a bit gimmicky. Even trying it for the first time, it felt odd/gimmicky. However, when I drove my wife's uncle's F07 for a week, it made a huge difference on our trip up the CA coast. So, got it on my G30, and we're very happy with it.

I had massage seats in my Audi S6 and I liked them, so I was curious when checking out the BMW. I tried them in a 7 series and they are great. The Audi used to get too marks but I think the BMW has paid them up. Needless to say, I included the massage seats in my M550i order. I also like how the seats look visually.

Had them in a long term 740d loaner this year from BMW GB, I actually found the movement to be quite annoying when driving and never used the function, kids thought it was fun, if it were me id spend the money on upgrading the leather as this transforms the interior quality, owing to the leather being softer the seats are also more comfortable too
