Next song from steering wheel

Is there a way to skip to the next song from the steering wheel? I know i can press the «scroller» and navigate through the tracks of the same album, but that doesn’t work with random playlists on the iPhone. Only the current song gets listed.

I have to stretch my arm and press the right arrow button on the stereo. I know, first world problem...

I had a 3 series before my 2 and it did next and previous song on the steering wheel. Not this navigation feature. I couldn't figure out how to switch between the two. Quite annoying

Interesting...

When I move the scroll wheel up or down one notch, without pressing it, I get the whole list of songs on my playlist with the currently playing song selected. After I scroll up for the previous song or down for the next song, only then do I actually press the scroll wheel.

I do get that too, but only when playing a full album. Most of the time I play long random playlists and this is when only the current song show. Ha well... no biggie.

I have an older iPhone plugged into the USB port (4S to be exact) within the armrest console and the random playlist will allow me to skip to the next or previous song from the scroller on the steering wheel. I have not attempted this with a bluetooth connection. How are you connected?

My scroll bar works for selecting any forward or backwards song with random playlists containing over 1000 songs via the Bluetooth connection. Currently using an iPhone 6 with iOS 11.1.1.

Tested the bluetooth connection last night on my drive home. Played music off my iPhone X on iOS 11.1.1 and allows me to scroll the 504 songs on my playlist via scroller on steering wheel without problems.

Maybe it has something to do with Apple Music... I’ll try with a playlist of owned songs.

You can only scan through and skip between existing directories. If you want to have access to larger music collection, you need to change file structure and use more playlists over folders.

Yeah, I wondered about this too. I sometimes hit the voice control button and say "next song" and that works. But it does feel odd that there are no "next" and "back" buttons on the wheel.

Does anyone else have a problem with the WRONG song being played when selected from the steering wheel? For example, if i scroll and pick "track 10", track 9 will be played instead.

Have you tried voice commands or Siri?
