Service dealer recommendations [San Diego Area]
Im new to San Diego and am looking for a good dealership to take my car to for the scheduled maintenance. I will be reverting the car to stock, but it would be nice to know if they are "mod-friendly".
Currently located in UTC. Thanks in advance! |

El Cajon, Escondido, Vista, Encinitas.
Stay away from bmw of San Diego. From my experience and all my local guys telling me bad experiences. I'm assuming this is for warranty work? Any reason for going back to stock? |

BMW Escondido is a Dinan dealer so they are mod-friendly to that extent at least.

Thanks for your suggestions and sorry for the late response.
I ended up going to bmw sd since no one had responded at the time, did not have any issues besides a long wait time. They also did the work somewhere I couldn't see what they were doing, which was not what I am used to and kind of annoying but oh well. Will try escondido next time if it saves me from having to take everything out |

I just had routine maintenance done on my 2-series at Escondido. Most of it was excellent. I made an appointment to bring car in a 1 PM and no significant wait. Car was ready by end of day. Only thing that was below expectations is my tire pressures were a bit off and I don't feel they responded to requests for info about that adequately.

Ive been going to Vista. Brian (service advisor) is pretty good to deal with there, guy is a car enthusiast drives a pretty nicely modded e92 M3. Vista is also a dinan dealer, they used to also have a dealership car which was a supercharged e92 M3 that they took to car meets. They took it to Mfest a couple years ago.

Definitely recommend El Cajon for central/San Diego proper. Escondido if you're in North County.

I can second this. I prefer El Cajon over Escondido, and they are both about the same distance for me. Both of these dealers are also big supporters of the San Diego chapter BMWCCA HPDE's and Autocross events.

This may be a minor thing but I just thought Id share.
A couple of weeks ago I got the coolant warning that many other B58 owners are also experiencing. It kind of bothers me that bmw sd did not check the fluid levels during the oil change. I would have thought it would be pretty standard to do so. |

When they got bought out by Autonation they got rid of it I think. In fact, I think Brian (the service advisor) bought the supercharger when they parted out the dealer car. But don't quote me on that.
