V1 vs. Bel STI driver?

which do you prefer Valentine 1 or the Beltronics STI Driver and why? I'm deciding between to two and have read good reviews on both.

that's what I'm leaning towards... it has a pretty good track record. even though the bel sti has some nice features. Does the V1 give you lots of false alarms? How is it at night, is the display to bright?

I don't know about false alarm but if you read the manual it will tell you how to recognize certain things. I don't think the display is too bright but you can purchase the concealed display for $39. They will always unpgrade you to the newer version, so one less thing you have to worry about. I've used it over 5 years now and it has been great.

Talking Bel STi is pretty good keeping out false

I have a Bel STi and it works really good plus if you take a trip down in Virginia you have nothing to worry about with the cops picking up your radar detector. I plan to by a LI (laser interceptor) laser jammer for the front and rear of my M3 when ever it get built. in the mean time I am just buying mods and My STi driver is one.

Got the V1 ordered today. Now just deciding on laser jammer system to compliment it, if necessary, leaning towards the LE-30 from Lidatek. Anyone have any suggestions on laser jammers? Seems both the LE-30 and Blinder MX20 both get good reviews.

I have both the LE-10 (original) and LE-30 and I like them a lot. Unfortunately the LE-30 is being redesigned and cannot be purchased presently. I am part of the Laser Interceptor group buy. I haven't received it yet, but I'm having second thoughts since this "company" has some of the worst customer support on the planet. And they are in Croatia, so you can't easily talk to them or visit. If Lidatek ever gets the LE-30 back on the street I may buy that one instead and sell the LI unboxed

I too was on the V1 wagon but after reading the following article, I'm now inclined to go for teh STi

(Out of a total 200 points the Sti got 194, the V1 only 146)

I have a Bel STi, and I like it. If I were to do it again, maybe I would get the V1, but the STi works really well. In fact I lent it to two friends and now both of them have STi's. A word of advice when buying: Buy it at a Pilot station (truck stop) truckers buy them because they are invisible to the Spector guns (RDDs). It will save you about $50.

Don't trust Craig Peterson. The guy is shifty and has not so hidden agendas. V1 is still great, but I have had situations where the STi worked and my buddy's V1 (newest update at the time) didn't.

That site has been bashing Valentine, for going on ten years. Read the reviews from a trusty source, or test it out yourself with someone else. I'd avoid sites that look like they were prepared in ten minutes. They may be right this time, but I remember the V1 getting bested by whatever fad detector existed eight years ago, and not a single car magazine could replicate those results.
