It's up, but still seems a bit buggy! For example, when I spec out a M40i, it won't let me de-select the Wireless Charging option or the ZDA and ZPP packages. I looked at 30i options and again there seem to be many that are selected by default. You think this is intentional or just bad programming?

US Configurator Available!

New 2018 X3 configurator loaded on bmwusa.com website. Not sure if it works yet, but just noticed!

I think they are making certain options mandatory during the early order process. I was required to order the wireless charging option you mentioned.

Never mind. I went back in just now and now it lets me de-select the options. I did ask my CA to double check if it is required, though, as I am having second thoughts on whether the wireless charging will be worth it for me. Seems like a lot to just avoid using a charger and the Hotspot looks like it will require an additional internet plan for another monthly charge, which I wouldn't be able to justify.

I'm going to stick with the wireless charging. It will be my wife's car, but we will soon have new phones with wireless chargers at home. I would doubt we would continue the Wi-Fi Hotspot after the 3 month period unless it is really inexpensive.

Adding 4FH Front Ventilated Seats deletes the Sport Seats. The system tells you this and you can visibly see the different seats when you go back to the view of the interior.

I just emailed my dealer and asked if that is the same for the USA. If so, I told him to remove 4FH from my order. I don't want to lose the Sport Seats.
With the US configurator, changing between 4FH and not does not change the seat -- still Sport Seats, andyou can see the tiny holes in the perforated seats when you build side-by-side with/without. My 535dX has the ventilated seats and they are also sport seats, but with the perforated holes.

Every market is different and probably too many variables in my opinion. I'm sure that adds to cost and manufacturing complexity (like I still don't understand why the US doesn't get a rear foglight like almost every other country and Volvos/Audis have).

I was going to say the same thing. Glad it is up though.

Take a closer look. The seats change. 4FH deletes the "pull out" part of front seats. It is subtle, but look closely. You can see that the side bolsters also change slightly between the two pictures as well.

Fantastic, thanks Zirenz! Noted a few errors (HP and 0-60 on the M40i) but those will be picked up quickly as they work on it. Bet the orders start increasing pretty fast for them now.

Nice catch! I recently removed 4FH, as I was concerned about overall comfort. And I really like the pull out seat, so I'm glad I'll get that (back).

Yeah, you can see the change by also looking at the headrest.

So your statement has been confirmed by my CA. I have to keep the Wireless Charging on my M40i. I was on the fence anyway, so it makes the decision for me.

Got my production week--Week 42!!!

I'm not certain the 0-60 is wrong. I've seen varying numbers from BMW publications and news outlets over the last three months, anywhere from 4.6 to 4.8. The South Africa site lists 0-100kph at 4.8s and the UK site lists 4.8s 0-62mph.

I just barely sat down last night and coded up a little website monitor to run every few minutes and email me if the X3 build changed. It only got to run for 6 hours . According to my script you were right on top of it.

I have to think the 4.7s was an oversight by the initial programming team, as is the HP for sure. If you look at two different locations on this main G01 webpage, the 4.6s is reiterated (and documented in the specs as one example), so it would seem they would wish to be consistent with such a referenced figure. And the 4.8s for the 0-100km/h makes sense (the acceleration curve on the sim found in the 'G01 X3 xDr 1/4 Mile Thread' shows the slope in this area - http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1397744 ).

I spoke with one of the guys I'm dealing with and they were able to build it on the site without those two things.

Perhaps you're right. I'm just saying they haven't really been consistent in any of the marketing I've seen thus far. Not that any of this really matters.

your eyes are much better than mine

I can see the bolster difference, but not the pull-out part. Car is for my wife, so the ventilated seats are something she will appreciate more than the bolster.

Noticed also that the headrest button on the mocha changes color where it does not on the beige.

LOL!! The pull-out part is more "flat" on the non ventilated seat. The ventilated seat has that part facing upward in line with the angle of the rest of the seat.
