My AR-1s are in! PICS Inside
Hey guys, after many decisions and choices and countless hours studying various wheels, and then tires, I finally ordered a few weeks ago, and today, UPS delivered them early evening. I ordered 235/35/19 ASA AR-1's (8.5, 40mm offset) for the front, and (9.5, 39mm offset) 265/30/19 rears. I got 235/35 fronts, but 275/30.
Here are the pics taken with my RAZR: 1st pic: lined up 2nd pic: 275vs235 width 3rd and 4th pic: Tire Labels. Congrats! I wish my rims would come a *few* weeks after I ordered them! Enjoy!!!!
Anyhow, #2 - You will be fine with the drop, no rubbing. +39 in the rear is pretty tucked in, so no worries. #7 - Those are your wheel weights used to balance your rims and tires. If you ever get wiggle in the steering wheel and your rims are bent, one or more of those squares fell off. Danny

wow! 275's are amazingly huge. Very "tough" looking!
I'm gonna go with 275 rear 235 frnts as well when my wheels get here.

I noticed the tire ever so slightly comes over the wheel in the rears, but not in the front. Does wider mean more rim protection? If so, I would reccomend u all to get 245 front tires then, because i don't think my 235 is adequately going to protect against curb rash. From this point of view, 275 is perfect.
So leave the squares on I take it? can u briefly explain more what they do, thanks. Does anyone know how to safely remove the centercaps? i know this sounds dumb, but when i put a flat head against the inside of my wheel to push the prongs in and then push the cap out, I felt like the prongs would break off. I do want to keep them in case I need to sell them to a non bmw owner. Quote:

I don't know, but according to ups, my shipping weights were 55 lbs for fronts and 62 pounds for rear (mounted with tires and packaging). I got to tell you though, those 275's are HUGE. It looks like it belongs on a corvette, not a 3 series. I don't think they would be ideal for racing, unless we had like 300+ horses or something.
One thing i noticed, Tirerack.com has raised the prices! Almost $100 a wheel, damn. I'll let u guys know who i got 'em from if you're interested, pm me. I got them all shipped for $1,450. P.S.: He also offered me the same deal with F1's for $1,650. I opted for these though because the Proxe TR1's had excellent owner reviews. Quote:

Congrats on the wheels! That is so much meat in the back, I prefer the stretched euro look...well you wont have any traction problems.

Thank you, and thanks for your help with the CSL's. It really boiled down to these two (AR-1's or CSL's). Both look amazing on the E90.
Gotta get back to work now... check up later tonight. Quote:

just push the caps out from the back. You can do it by hand, just push on the center with your thumb. Oh and by the way 275 wont look that huge once mounted. I have 265's and they did look HUGE, but once mounted they look great.

Ill say the 275's look huge in the back even when mounted. I saw execution's at our last DC metro meet, and they looked quite beefy mounted.... :rocks: |
