Alpina Gearbox Flash ZF 8 Speed in the North West?
Hi All,
Does anybody know of anywhere or anyone which can flash Alpina Software to the ZF 8 Speed Gearbox in my 2015 Bmw 435d Xdrive GC. Had quotes from a couple of places but they are miles away, just looking for somewhere closer. Cheers

Bavarian coding Simon will do it for £90, based in Southampton.
TC Performance in London do it. Artur Idziak a member of the 3 fivers group UK on Facebook will do it for £80, based in Edinburgh. Just looking for someone in the north west, Manchester area ? |

I thought the Alpina flash was for the ZF 6AT only.

No, a few people have had it done on the ZF 8 Speed Auto.

Faster, Smoother Shifts, the revs are higher before changing gear & It shows which gear you are when you are in D.

I will try and find out though. I may be arranging a meet of some sort with a minimum of 5 people in the North West/Manchester area for someone to come and travel and do them altogether.

I'm sure @teaston had this done - don't know if he quoting works?
It was me who firstly enquired about it off a German guy who did it, arsoul was the first do have it done. Its not vastly different so don't get your hopes up, yes it shifts smoother, but not so much quicker, shows you what gear your in, but I don't believe it shifts higher up the rev range, actually shifts lower down the rev range to take advantage of torque. Remember it's based on alpina which was a 330d retro fitted with twin turbo which I believe is slightly different configuration. I also believe it's not worth doing unless your remapped. The old zf6hp boxes or slush boxes were pretty crap and could be improved on both my mates e92 335i and my e92 335d, the zf8 box is much better and thus improvements are smaller. The whole process takes circa 10 minutes. I'm in the process of downloading the massive 64gb of files to do it which is nearly done. If you have all the necessary files it can be done remotely with teamviewer etc. With a bit of luck I might be downloaded this weekend and do a little write up and video. Good feedback, sorry I couldn't remember username knew it started with a T ha.
I use eco Pro a lot not sure if it'll improve Mpg? Is it correct it doesn't shift much faster? And I presume changing up earlier is that in sport mode? I'd hazard a guess around 4800 as that's when torque dips off considerably? When remapped. What's the exact differences? |
