We need to form an EIA to redflag suspicious members

I strongly suggest that its time to form an EIA - E90post.com Intelligence Agency.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. EIA members should be formed only by veterans of e90post.com.

2. EIA will maintain a list that is known only to EIA of suspicius members i.e basically the bad guys (suspiciouos to be dealers looking to void someone's warranty)

3. Forums like " Turbo / FI Engine and 335i Tuning / Drivetrain / Exhaust Modifications " should have restricted access or separate logins which have cleared the background check by the EIA.An EIA forum should be a sticky in the " Turbo / FI Engine and 335i Tuning / Drivetrain / Exhaust Modifications "
4. A member may be able send an email to something like EIA@e90post.com to have a background check on a member before replying to his/her post. Agian EIA may or may not reply back to this member based on the sender being suspicious himself.
5. EIA should have the authority to block members who look suspicious of gethering information about others.

More suggestions are welcome.

Background check?!?!? Wait a second...this sounds like a dictatorship.

If they fail to cooperate can we knee-cap them?

In all seriousness, there is no need for such high levels of security in a BMW ONLINE forum of all places.

I think there's the general issue of privacy, and who polices the police? But...

I would think that checking on vendors / group buy leaders would be a good way to prevent people from taking others' money and running away. Only the person in-charge needs to have his background checked, maybe he should be made to sign some document saying he's legally responsible for providing the merchandise by a particular time, and specify what the penalties are. After all, he did use the forum to reach out to a larger market, and for people to remain happy with e90post, it would help to assist in the trading process somewhat.

I don't think we should stop at outing potential BMW warranty moles.

We also need to be on the lookout for potential terrorists who may wish to use the vast Turbo and FI knowhow posted here to build a 335 WMD.

For example, if someone asks about raising boost levels above 15 psi, we should immediately move their post to the Guantanamo Bay Forum for further review.

Ya and Television has a big market too
maybe background checks should be done with everyone holding a camera and making a commercial.

+1 lets interrogate anyone who passes 15 psi for potential threats to our forum members, especially before any new meets come up

Hahaha, this topic made me laugh. You know there's NO WAY BMW could prove anything you said on a message board is actually from you in regards to you car? First off, they'd never know who you are unless your username was "BobSmithofSeattleWashingtonDrivinga335iWithVIN#AB CDEFGHIJKLMNOP", at which point THEY STILL can't prove that someone didn't make that up and just read your VIN out of your window, or perhaps it typically is your name but someone stole your account...

I can go on. Bottom line, chill out, BMW isn't watching little message boards like E90Post so they can void people's warranties.

Background checks are not enough. They cover only the history. Let's check everyone's future as well.
