????? why disable something you could get a citation / ticket for ??
Its a mandatory and now standard safety item.

^ This is what I was thinking. I am guessing no one in North America has done this as it could easily get you a ticket for disabling your turn signals. Plus there is the added thing of them being quite useful helping people see that you want to turn.

So then a question to anyone in the EU.
If you disable a standard safety lighting system
Is there a penalty / ticket / citation for failure to maintain equipment,
if stopped (especially at night or turning)

And how many euros might it cost for that penalty?????

In EU amber side markers are disabled, don't ask me why there are such differences but it is what it is.
Finally, I managed to disable it changing parameters in frm 3060 and 3080 with e-sys.

Sorry that is not correct they are not disabled for the UK "indicators" that are shown in the Original Posters" photograph.

In North America, they are standard and actually increase safety.

In other parts of the world, it is often different hardware and they do not require same markers.

Interestingly, I find NA drivers want to disable and ECE owners want to enable all the time.

EU drivers are NOT required to maintain standard safety equipment,
installed at the factory???

What part of EU are you in?

US vs EU equip . . . . that is some dry reading !

But it didn't address the LEGAL issues (tickets & citations) of not
maintaining the lighting equip.in the EU.

There is no maintaining. It is how it is coded from factory; different hardware and settings.

so no maintaining and coding from factory, dictate if the OWNER is or is not
responsible to maintain a fully functional standard safety lighting system??????

Can i ask how many years you drove in the EU ? ( not californicate)
different hardware . . . . settings ? ?

If you were not responsible for maintaining equipment (in EU) then
there would be a very large well know Disclaimer stating "the owner
is NOT responsible to maintain illumination standard safety equipment"

I personally have no intention of ever disabling mine.

But, certain EU vehicles are not even equipped with hardware capable of displaying so there is nothing to enable.

And there are older vehicles here in u.s. that don't have them either!

So the bottom line of this "you don't know" . . . .
stay on the road it should take you home..........

It's been a while, but can you share what parameters exactly you coded?
