Lets Talk Powa!

Any idea what you guys think a FBO F90 will dyno and run 1/4 & 1/2?

My guess is people will see far higher number when dyno in 2wd mode vs awd, however with this killer new ZF transmission 730rwhp +/- 780rwtq +/-

Downpipes, intake and tune on 93 my guess.

10.2 @ 137mph +/-

Trap 1/2 170ish?

Is the DME the same or similar in the F10?

Good luck with tuning, I'm pretty sure the ECU will have an all new encryption on it and tuners will not be able to tune for years, once again. Not only that but the S63xx engine used in the F90 have the same exact limitations as the S63tu engine used in the F10 M5, because all of the internals are cast. People will be bending their rods left and right. At least with the F90 one will be able to make more torque and not have to worry about the clutch because the ZF8 will probably be able to handle more than 700wtq, but that remains to be seen.

I personally can't wait to see what steps BMW have taken to prevent tuning of the ECU's for this iteration of the M5.

These tuners need to ramp and control the torque, the vw/audi MBQ guys do it alone with the Evo 9 & GTR guys to prevent and rods bending, still make good power too.

If bm3 cracks it and has same features to custom tune that'll be awesome. Bigger turbo with torque under 670-650 at the wheels will be the sweet spot.

Tuners took quite a bit of time cracking the F10 M5 ECU; I would assume the encryption on the F90 will be even more difficult. I would not count on it for a while; I hope I'm wrong.

Much is already in place on certain models and has been for close to a year. How this is used and what consequences can be administered is very different.

Money and ability to be certified by regulatory bodies is going to be unavoidable.

Do the tuners have something for the M550i yet? I think that would have the same ECU interface as the new M5.

Bummer to take a step back in power from my Stage 1 F10, but I'm sure it will be
"fast enough" while waiting for power mods.

I have spotted some people tuning it in russia but PTF (bootmod3) is skeptical on their results. I saw one video of it from the interior and saw alpina dash, which means they somehow got the alpina software on it. This was confirmed by another local tuner as well who told me in the early days of F series, thats how tuners were 'tuning' these cars. Jb4 will be out the soonest though
