2018 F90 M5 UK Pricing Guide

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Price Guide from the UK site:
PDF - https://www.bmw.co.uk/dam/brandBM/ma...3413215180.pdf

Base Price excluding vat: £69,728.00

Retail Price including vat: £87,160.00

Options pretty reasonable:

M Sport Exhaust: £1,100

Other options in-line with the standard 5 series pricing.

Consider the pricing with a fellow member's perspective:

Off the top of my head on standard features of the F90 that I read on Monday evening, I think it's the equivalent of n F10 (£72,320 - retail, not OTR) with Competition Pack (£6,700), LED lights (£1.495), Full Leather (£5,445), Multi-Function Seats (£875) Active Security Package (£1,125), Surround View (£375 + £530), Comfort Access (£695) and Powered Bootlid (£430).

This adds up to £89,990 and there are clearly other options and updates the F90 has as standard over the F10, plus the extra power etc.

FWIW, the UK pricing is very good. When I saw the initial Euro pricing, my heat sank as it said 117k Euro's which is £107k!

BMW have gone mental ... this would represent a 18% increase over the outgoing F10 + the M5 is now officially more expensive than the E63s -> 86,575£ ... I think it's the 1st time we are seeing a M car priced over AMG ! I really don't get the 18% increase for a car which is an upgrade of the M550i with the same engine as the F10. May be the UK price increases won't be reflected in other markets but this is not a good sign ... at all

I think the M550i is decent value, but the M5 not so much. I would just go with the M550i. It's overkill enough as it is for public roads.

Agree to that and for the people who still want to own a 4 door M the F80 is also a great option. In my situation, I was keen to upgrade from the F80 and had my eyes on the F90 but in view of the latest I'm not sure I'd be able to stretch finances. I might consider M550i but will also be looking at AMGs ( C estate and GLC) and possibly upcoming RS4

I think you'll find since the F10 M5 was priced and the F90 we've tanked our currency by voting for Brexit. No doubt the new car would still have been a bit more expensive but I imagine the bulk of this rise is simply because our currency isn't worth as much as it used to be.

Currency might be a factor indeed but PaulT_335i mentioned on the previous post that the car was better specified than the F10 hence the increased.
FYI the UK is the only market offering the F90 priced over the E63s and that's bit unusual.

Are all those bankers going to pay these prices when they can't drive the car to their downtown London office?

BMW UK business model is mad

They discount some of their cars so heavily that you can get 8/10% off and some even as much as 20%. It is driving down second hand values and I expect there are others like me who now don't buy so frequently

Dealers have to shift volume as if they were Ford or GM. BMW seem happy to have shifted metal in exchange for selling more finance.

Within 12 months I expect you will be able to get £15k off list of this new M5 which is way over priced.

This is probably why BMW UK didn't bring the 550i to the UK as it would have likely stolen sales from the M5.

Well for the F90 you still need to add those pkgs because they are not standard. And Comp pack will come later for the F90 im sure.

Comfort - 1,195
Premium - 1,995
DASP - 1,470

Total 91,820 (about $119,000 USD)

No, thanks.....

Not everyone wants full leather or competition package....that's 12k more alone. Couple this with the M550i pricing and stats....pretty sure lots of people will go to the M550i over the M5. You can add a ton of crap on no one wants and then say it's actually cheaper than the F10....but in reality, you are paying for options you do not want making it more expensive. What is the price difference in the UK between the M550 and the M5?

I think in the US they wanted $7k for competition package on the M6....which was, what, 15 lousy horsepower and uglier rims than were on the non-competition M6.

I just built up a 2018 Mercedes E63S over here in the United States.

Pretty much fully loaded and total MSRP came out to be $135,605 USD. This sounds about right.

https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehic...ab=tab-summary

I will expect to see the F90 M5 exceed $140,000 USD as fully loaded.

That's just a tough pill to swallow for a car that has the same engine as the F10 M5.

Hmmm. BMW modern pricing is getting silly.

Early adopters will find it very very expensive.

Crazy discounts coming in 2 years. Hmmm.

Also isn't this car really a re-skin of the F10 version and same engine bar a few changes/tweaks to power. Seems quite a hike!

It will still however no doubt about it.

Let the suckers pay that ridiculous price.
I will wait until someone takes on the depreciation ($30k+) and buy a second hand "facelifted" M5 xDrive

Definitely not a Re-Skinned F10.

The body structure is quite different, especially forward of the firewall, and it is not the same engine. It is a significant update of the S63 (TU4).
