Is there any way of telling which software versions you're running ?

Anyone know how to tell which software version your car is running.

Just had mine back after service and seems punchier and more economical.

Did ask if they would do latest software upgrades but said no.

Need to know for

Engine

Suspension

Gear box

Before I try and get the updates via coders.

Thanks

Don't have e sys and certainly don't have the skill or knowledge to use and certainly not the courage to do it.

Thinking of getting the latest software and didn't want to call some guy out etc to find it was done.

Apparently bmw don't upgrade as standard when in for servicing.

Apparently if your car throws a fault.

Did think of trying to bullshit them but thought saying my engine transmission and suspension playing up - oh and think you need to do the Alpina flash to sort out transmission might be a bit optimistic.

Just had car serviced and it's pulling better - not sure if its service or upgrade

Similary also had the rear f31 underbody bracing fitted -again suspension feels much better and wanted to know if it's the software or the bracing.

Wonder if vorph can she'd any light.

The above should give you pics as to what it is.

Believe the f31 and the 3 door 1 series have it but not on saloons /5 doors.

Found it's helped reduce body roll and reduces the rebound on bumps etc. Makes comfort feel more like sport - as measured by my arse g-meter.

Worth the money imho.

Can't help on software version (sorry) but just to say that I was told by local dealer I had to pay for complete software update if I wanted it done. Anyway I tried to do the Bluetooth update by USB but iDrive wouldn't accept (error) so booked car in after 3 USB's failed - long story short car went in & I went to collect later & they hadn't sorted the issue. Kicked off & then to be fair they stepped up & offered me complete update FOC Must admit car is running great & nice little touches on sat-nav / radio displays etc. Some things do get wiped = they retrieved iphone settings, most pre-sets wiped thou...

P.s. They do show a print-out of which version car was running & what's installed when they've finished, mine showed 2017/07 version..

You can go further too, if you have a 4 convertible or 3 with panoramic roof, you get more bracing: https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...0i/ECE/51_8755

Reckon that would fit an f30 as well.

There's something else to think about.

Got a strut braceat the front which helps as well
