I'm wondering if iDrive 5 can read out your text messages from your Android phone similarly to Apple CarPlay? Where it notifies you of a incoming text and reads it out and you can respond and choose to send a text back handsfree?

Yes it reads the texts on my Galaxy S7 just fine.

If you hold down voice command on steering wheel, vehicle interacts with Google Assistant or Siri.
IDrive can bring up text message to visually read or verbally read out to you. |
