in this thread, you'll find that there is a plenty of 330i owners, myself included, who debadged their cars.

i don't see it as though i'm more than 325i owners just because i own a 330i. that's the biggest bullshit, and nhhhelp is already getting lectured about that...

I know a few guys in Mitsu EVO forums that not only debadged their evo's but removed the carbon fiber wing and spray painted the intercoolers black. When they were questioned why they wanted to make their EVO's look like regular Lancers they simply said It was more as a matter of personal preference.

A sleeper car is the hotest car. A car made to look faster than it really is, is the least hot car, IMHO.

Aything in between is also nice! Like my debadged 325i. Ive debadged all my Bimmers from the e30, to the e46, and so onto the e90, granted they are all 325is

My mustang is a special edition Bullitt mustang that was only built in 2001. In deference to the movie, they don't have spoilers like the regular GTs have. It is easy to mistake them for a V6 mustang. I really like the fact that it looks so normal when in fact it is one of the fastest cars you are going to pull up next to while driving around on any given day. Spoilers, ground effects, fart can exhausts, etc. look ridiculous to me. I prefer nice clean looking cars with no gaudy stickers, numbers, badges, wings, etc.

I love the look of debadged cars, but I'm too vain to do it.

debadging a car is up to the owner and not to the engine they have under the bonnet

Whats funny:

-When 325 owner de-badges, people think he debadged it because he didn't want to tell people he owns the 325.
-when 330 owner de-badges, people think he debadged it to be a "sleeper".

Truth is, THERE ARE E90 OWNERS OUT THERE, WHO JUST ENJOYS THE LOOK OF DEBADGED E90s.
It really has nothing to do with hiding which model the person owns.

Yes, there are people out there doing this so they can hide it, but thats just stupid.
No reason to hide, BMW is a BMW. Be proud of it.

Yea it is definately funny when people think its 325 owners who do it. Why would we? I could afford a 330 but it just didnt pass the common sense test to me. Why would I pay an extra $3-4k for a car that only puts out 40 HP more (I know its more than just the HP but the standard options didnt do anything for me)? To some that means a lot but to me who cares.

People do it because they like the clean lines... not because they are hiding what model they have. The only thing I prefer about the 330 is those damn 162's... those are sweet rims

...Then there's that guy on the other thread who wants to up-badge his 325 to a 330. It seems trivial, but then again, I find myself reading to completion all these posts about badging.

I'd debadge an M5 if I had one.

To me, it's two things:

-I do like the uncluttered look.

-Badges, in my mind, represent nothing more than a symbolic manifestation of economic class consciousness. Arrogant as it probably sounds, I consider myself well above such petty concerns. Especially regarding relatively inexpensive items such as automobiles.

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges."

The debadged license plate looks good, too.

I think the badge makes it look nicer. It gives it more of a complete look. When debaged it just looks like there's something missing. I'd definately keep the badge on a 325 too, if I had one.
