Driving in midst of flash flood, burning smell now coming from vents

I was driving my 2016 F36 home tonight in the midst of a bad storm and a flash flood. Luckily I was able to quickly get off the road and onto higher ground until things subsided. (Unfortunately, in the attached picture, you'll see another driver in a new F30 with dealer tags didn't make it). The water I ended up driving through was at most 10" deep.

Afterwards, I drove home about 30 miles and kept noticing a burning-like smell coming from my air vents. Car drives completely fine otherwise.

I'm thinking you might have taken some debris like leafs and other gunk in the engine bay and which now get burned if they're next to things that get really hot.
