Did anybody try snow/ice sliding on xdrive?

I drove sti before and in winter we liked going frozen ponds and snow tracks to slide sideways. Sti is best when sideways, its awd is designed for rallying. Now i'm looking for m135 xdrive and planning to do the same during winters.
How does bimmer's xdrive endure such beating? I heard that in many part-awd cars center diff overheats in couple seconds because they aren't intended for such things.

Here is how we have fun in winter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ9OU1zdP2o

Did anybody try winter racing?
