Cruise control marker alignment?
Hey everyone, I was hoping there was a way to align the cruise control marker that's around the spedometer? When I set mine to 70mph, the marker is closer to 68mph while my spedo needle is at 70mph. Please help!

i noticed this too, never gave it much though... but its probably because:
the spedo on most modern bmw's is optimistic by about 2. so when you are setting it to 70 its actually at 68 'real' speed. and its probably not calcuating that offset when it places marker. edit : there are ways to code off this +2. but i have never been able to get everything to line up correctly. always ended up with 1 or 2 of the 4 (speedo / hud / digital display on speedo / cruise control) not matching up. |

Mine shows about 1MPH lower than the speedo. It doesn't cause me to lose any sleep. The cruise and needle match up, that's good enough for me. I added an HUD speed readout and calibrated it to reflect what the cruise is set at. I also verified that the speedo, the HUD and the cruise show the speed about 2MPH higher than actual at 60MPH. That's fine with me too, knowing I have some wiggle room with respect to the constabulary.
