What's wrong with these people? Sheesh

Selling my 328 with less than 60k miles with full history, 2nd owner, for $7700 (already lowered price from $8.5k - which is already low market price for a 328i e90 with such low mileage) and people still lowball for $5k lol, some show up, promise to call tomorrow to take it to a mechanic and disappear. Resellers cry like babies that price is too high (even without seeing/checking the car) lol WTF!? I guess they would still complain even if I priced it for $1 Really makes me say to them F... Y... Beatch and keep the car lol

I suspect e90 is geting cheap and buyer demographics is declining into worst category of people who can barely afford any car, but want bimmer still I feel sorry for all of you there who is or will be selling their trusty e90s having to go through shitload of "finest" buyers lol - hang in there guys and gals

Where were you 6 months ago when I was looking for something for my daughter . I could not find anything decent at the time and settled for a fixer upper. $7700 is a good price however some buyers will kick in a little more to get a higher mile 335i. The 328/335 prices are so close now that they compete against each other on the used market.

I did consider a 60k mile 328 in tampa but it was an odd light green color that my 16 year old did not like. I think it has been for sale for 8 months now. It was on autotrader if you wanted to compare to yours.

We enter the "under 10" market still believing our cars are fresh and valuable, but the market speaks.

My 17yo son was recently shopping E90 with $5K in his bank account. He ended up buying an E36 328is off Craigslist, 150K on the clock, for $2K, and it is just the most beautiful car. I want to steal it.

This is exactly why I have just decided to keep mine till it dies and thats not going to happen for a while. In 2-3 years I will be looking for the track second car and M2's will be selling at a good mix of low miles and at a decent cost. These cars are in that spot where it will be the parents buying a car for their kid and the car will have to meet the kids taste and the parents reliability/safety standards. Most of these cars won't meet both of the requirements for the kid and parent.

Your other option's are trade in or selling it really cheap just to get rid of it. No matter what a website says your car is worth it is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it not what you think its actually worth.

That's the nature of selling. If someone offers you a low value, politely decline and keep waiting. There's effectively an infinite pool of people as far as you're concerned.

Yeah man, that's what I'm doing, but it's pain ..... just had 2 scammers that were trying to etransfer me part of money lol. Dealing with such elite people is tiring as hell as I always try to go extra mile for a good buyer and then I get burned

Here in colorado bmw and suburus are so high demand, my friend sold his 335d for 20k with 78k miles on it. He then turned around and bought a used 12' WRX with 50k miles with that money

I've got a 10 year old Saab that I will need to sell. Stories like this make me want to keep it rather than deal with this bullshit.

I had a similar experience selling a motorcycle (Triumph Daytona). One "potential" buyer came back from the test ride espousing how inferior the Triumph was to the Super Blackbird (never mind the Honda has 150cc and an extra cylinder on the Daytona). F'n time-wasting tire kickers.

The best answer to lowballers is to suggest that a used PT Cruiser might be more in their budget.

The $5k cracks me up. You should say yes, and not show up and say you got a better offer of $4200 and some magic beans

I have bought and sold a 25 cars on Craigslist. Texting now allows quick low ball offers that would not have happened in the phone era. When I get a low ball, I generally reply with something like "I have someone willing to pay more who is going to see the car tomorrow." If the person is a flake, they go away. If they are serious, they start a serious conversation.

I am surprised how many low ball people turn out to be real buyers just making bad decisions with their initial offer. I have also replied with "I prefer to negotiate with people who have seen the car in person. Trust me, it is worth taking a look at it."

I take care of my cars like a "BMW enthusiast" would and they always sell to the first person who shows up to take a look. That is your goal, get someone to show up.

I know the M3 holds better resell value than a 335i or 328i. What do you guys think about the IS? Is it going to depreciate like the ZHP from the E46 era? A few thousand above your normal 335i?

No one wants an old BMW that is about to spring oil leaks, have blown shocks, a busted alternator and water pump, needs new belts. I don't expect to get more than 4-5k for my 328i.

I use google voice. Once on a forum someone DM'd me, "What's your cell, I want to text you some pics of my rims."

Ok, no offense, but I'd rather not give out my cell to someone I don't know personally, so luckily my google number worked!

Protip, I use an app called TalkaTone for all my craigslist inquiries when buying or selling. Its a free app that lets you create a burn number that can be called and texted at. So no worries on giving out your personal real number.

I know that with google voice, the caller is made aware that it's a google voice number, when they leave a message. But I've made inquiries to new car dealers, and no lie, the calls and emails don't stop sometimes for almost a year. I can't imagine that happening with a home or cell number (although both cases a number can be blocked)....

Wow. I feel that's a good price, especially with a service history.

I'd have a hard time finding one like that in CT. Even stuff with 130k-150k miles is like 8 grand.

Is yours an X-Drive or 328i?

I had a firm offer from my local dealer to buy my car for a fixed price. People offered me less than the fixed offer from the dealer, and were surprised when I would not take their lowball.

The market for E90s is pretty weird right now. A few years ago, the market for '07-'09 BMWs was very tight because there were not many sold during the recession and a lot of people wanted off-lease BMWs. Now there is a glut of BMWs in general and those years are not as desirable, possibly because of the perceived N54 engine issues. Within the last year, I bought an '09 E93 335i with 65k miles for $14k AND an '08 E93 328i with 63k miles for $10k (and an E61 535 with 100k miles for $10k). The '09 was perfect but the '08 needed about $1k worth of misc and is now perfect. I just sold my also perfect (not even a stone chip) '07 E90 328i with the sports package and 110k miles, and got $6500 for it. These cars are now 2 generations old and seem to be bottoming out, price-wise. The good news is that an $8K BMW, if properly maintained, is not likely to ever be worth much less than that. I've had a few BMWs that I have had for a few years and sold for more than I paid for them. Doesn't help if you are trying to sell now, though....

Oh, and just stick to your guns on the price. I had plenty of jack asses low ball me on my 328. After 3 weeks, I got exactly what I was asking for it.
