Was gonna get a 335xi coupe...
But decided to go for something a bit less pricey with more options and near identical performance.
2005 S4 Sedan, 6 speed manual fully loaded minus sunroof(which I really wouldn't want anyway, had one on the truck and only opened it at the request of passengers) So far I'm really happy with it, my dad has a 535xi which obviously has the same engine as the 335xi and near identical weight and the S4 stays right with him on the highway. And the S4 suspension seems to handle corners a bit better than the XI suspension. I still love the looks and engine of the 335 but for about 20K less, I have 0 complaints with the S4. EDIT: P.S. Yes that's a z4m coupe in the background of one pic, these are the pictures from the online ad the previous owner posted and the Z4M is his new car. |

Nice car, Kaiser. The S4s are pretty quick themselves. Since you ended up with a sedan, did you ever consider getting an E90 335xi, or did you only look at the E92s?

Nice, always a good show when we can take much more powerful cars at our altitude since they are hurting for power much more than us.
I have pinged the rev limit at the top end (~155mph) but since I have an AT, I have never done it in the rev range. |

I almost bought an 05 S4 two years ago. But I bought an 06 330i instead...now I have a 335i coupe. Still preferring the bimmers....nice clean looking car though.

So far no real regrets with the audi vs bmw. My dad has a 535xi and at colorado altitude it does seem to pull a bit harder with the turbos making up for altitude(especially low end) but the Audi is in no way lacking power and has plenty of horses to have a hell of a lot of fun. And I'm just gonna pretend I didn't read someone calling it a VW.... |
