E92 330i Springs, Dampers, Wheels and Tyres

Afternoon all,

Newbie on the forum here having owned my E92 330i Manual for just over a year now and been lurking in the background!

I'm looking into upgrading my E92 as per the title. I currently have the standard M Sport suspension, with 18" 287 styles and non-runflat tyres. It originally had 19" MV4's with run-flats and found them really crashy.

I've been looking at either the Bird's suspension or one of the Bilstein sets (B8, B12) and was after advice from anyone on here as to what people think is the best mix n match set up of springs, dampers, wheel size and tyres.

I'm after an improvement over the standard M Sport without being spine jarring stiff. Also happy to lower it slightly especially if I can get more forward rake on the car as the front always looks too high compared to the rear.

Always happy to go with decent tyres and non-runflats are fine by me.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Garage List
IMHO you really do get what you pay for, in the suspension department. As a high-quality ride is clearly on your wish list, I can recommend the Ohlins Road and Track set-up. Pricey, but achieves the normally impossible compromise of great handling and silky ride. Much better than Birds (I've tried both).

Wheels are very much personal preference, but I would say stick with 18s if ride quality is important to you. Most people can't resist the admitted cosmetic improvement from 19s, but pay for it through thier spine! Non-RFT are an added bonus, Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2's are pretty good for the price.

Just my five penn'orth...
