Anybody know of a good tinting place in San Diego?

Does anybody have any recommendations for tinting shops in San Diego. I checked out a place called Detail Works in Miramar in SD and the guy there said it'll cost about $229 for all 7 windows, but the tint is metallic and I heard it conflicts with the key fob.

Any other places I should check out in San Diego?

Based on several local references I had mine done at Mr. Tint in Escondido. They use FormulaOne brand non-metallic films and have two grades available in several different shades. Lower grade cost $170 (may fade in 3 yrs.), best grade (lifetime warranty) is $340 out the door. The install took a few hours and I have no complaint so far. Looks good to me....

I think the main problem with metallic tint is it interferes with the radio antenna embedded in your rear window.

I seen ric's ride in person and the tint looks clean.

thanks for the help. after some research around the forums, i was informed of diamond auto services on miramar, and if you mention this e90post forum, you'll get a $50 discount. the tint is non-metallic, and with the discount, comes out to $229 + tax.

Just make sure to check when its done. I need to bring back my E90 to be fix because it has little tiny bubbles. :mad:

Collanrf, did you get yours done at Diamond too? that's not too comforting if it is already bubbling. I had my previous car tinted using Formula One tint and it never bubbled in the 5 years I had it. I guess it's not a huge deal since there's a lifetime warranty but it still sucks...

I got mine done a couple of days before the Apple pie meet. I still need to bring it back. At least they have lifetime warranty. I already called them and they said just bring it in.

my friend and I both got our E90's tinted at Diamond. I did 20% in the front, 15% on the rear doors and rear windshield. white with tint looks clean...

Got mine done a car audio heaven on clairmont mesa blvd. paid 250 with lifetime warranty. 20% all around. Ask for ricky i think his name was.
