MY 2018 Cosmetic Changes

I have just ordered a 540i XDrive Touring which will be delivered in Sept 2017.

I spoke to my dealer about any changes between MY 2017 & MY 2018.
He mentioned 2 changes.

1. Slight Change in the Climate display where the degree symbol has been replaced by a fan symbol. Not Sure if this is for the standard display or the advanced 4 Zone display.

What is more concerning is:

2.Black Plastic around Gear Selector instead of Metal finish!

Can anybody confirm this or have pictures?

My dealer just emailed me a screen shot.

No drastic change.

Non painted? So it'll be bare plastic? Sounds cheap and nasty

you're going to notice a few other "changes" going from an F10 to this new G30. I picked my 540 up 2 months ago (after spending 3 years in an F10 535xi m-sport) and was a bit disappointed about a few minor details

- the driver's side cubby underneath your headlight switch in F10 was big, spacious, padded and perfect for sunglasses. in the G30, the cubby is still there but it's smaller, awkwardly shaped, no padding
- there's nowhere to put your change because there is no ashtray (unless that's a special order option?.. yes i know who smokes now!)
- in the trunk, your tool lid is gone, instead it's in a bag tucked away in a storage cubby. the storage holes underneath the floor are also gone. i'm guessing it's space saving but still!

other than that, i love the new car. the TFT dashboard, the engine, idrive software is the newest version (even newer than the 7 series), bigger heads up display.
