Hybrid Pads

I know the topic of hybrid pads for the track has been discussed before, but here's my situation. Moderately experienced track driver. Likely doing 3-6 track days per year. Won't be swapping to/from track/stock pads. Here's my current options:

1. Hybrid pad. Ferodo DS2500 were recommended by HP Auto as the go-to. But my local shop advised going with Endless MX72s ($800 for front/rears = $350 more expensive than the Ferodos...ouch)
2. (Less optimal choice) Run a track pad full time (RS29). Some people say the noise is unbearable, others live with it.

Would appreciate some input from those experienced track drivers. Especially anyone who can comment on DS2500 vs. Endless MX72s.

Cheers

Street pad for street, track pad for track otherwise it's a compromise. You'll likely destroy a hybrid pad and/or get brake fade unless you're not a very fast driver or are running a rock hard tire and track pads on the street are noisy and wear rotors.

It takes 20 mins to change pads on a M2. Tie up the brake sensors.

Literally. 20 minutes. Easy Peazy. The fixed calipers make swapping a breeze. Track pads suck on the street and will quickly corrode your wheels with rotor bits. Why make this a thing?

Yes, with the proper mechanical know how, tools and garage/working space pads can be done in 20 minutes or so.

I'm very interested in this as well. I would like to do a few more track days this year but the stock setup is shocking. I however cannot live with squealing brakes. Saying that if it takes someone 20mins to swap out i could potentially do this for each day. I am looking for some middle ground tho.

Pagid RS29. No swapping. Some squealing. I live with it.

How's are the Pagids for dust compared to the OEM pads - which are insane dust creators!

I used MX72s on my GT-R. And i was pretty happy with them.
I might give them a try after RS29s are worn. The RS29 makes a lot of noise if its a daily driver. Turning up the volume helps.

20 minutes to change all 4 brake pads? Thats optimistic. unless you have a hydraulic lift and an air gun...

i'd say about 1 hour.

What I consider not so dusty could possibly be seen as very dusty by someone else. It's all about reference. But I do think the RS29 generate very little dust compared to for example older PFC pad compounds.

The Hawk Street/Track pad look interesting - w/useful capability above 1,000F. Probably not a bad compromise but won't give you the performance of an all-out race pad (hawk HT60, Pagid RS29, PFC08) but maybe your calipers won't turn green, either

At this stage I'm going to put on the Ferodo DS 2500, from what I understand these seem to be a good compromise pad. Just want a pad that won't smear all over the rotor when undertaking a bit of spirited track driving.

If you're an intermediate/advanced driver for HPDE, a hybrid pad will not likely give you the braking performance or durability you're looking for. The pads get outside their friction temp range and begin to fade/wear quickly.

I just changed to Hawk HPS pads for the street (big improvement, if just a bit noisy) and will run either Pagid RS29 or PFC08 for the track.

+1 on the pad changes. Really easy and basic.

Hawk HPS are garbage in my experience, I am surprised you think they are better than OEM. HP+ are going to be better but noisy.

1 hour is indeed correct when jacking up the car and removing the wheel...
