Stereo randomly mutes? Help needed

I just bought an 07 Z4C and have had an intermittent issue with the stereo completely muting. Stereo is business CD - no Nav. Not sure if it's somehow related to the bluetooth connection to my blackberry or whether this is an issue that the dealership needs to look at. Every once in a while the stereo (and aux output and phone and CD) will go completely mute. Power is on, everything works fine, except no sound. Turning the car on and off immediately resolves the problem.

Has anyone experienced this before? It doesn't happen enough to really annoy me, but it's now happened a couple of times.

Thanks,

Tim

Its your bluetooth. Welcome to the world of the terrible BMW bluetooth integration. When the ELM gets an error, it just shuts down everything.

So basically no fix other than to shut down the car and restart? Wow...that's a huge PITA. No dealer fix known?

Their fix they will tell you is to get a phone listed in the 100% compatibility chart. Thats pretty much it. If you have a non-authorized phone paired, you're SOL for help from BMW.

It's a supported blackberry. I'll try and update the firmware first and see how that goes.
