Not sure what to do... Advice is very welcomed.

Car E90 335i N54 2007, 80,000miles

So my cars in Limp mode and has the roughest idle imaginable. A diagnosis has thrown up all sorts of faults which has made it difficult to know where to start or to know where it will end. Would you sell in its broken state and cut your losses or put money into repairing it?

Symptoms:

2A9E Inlet camshaft sensor, synchronisation
2A9F Exhaust camshaft sensor, synchronisation

2CEC: Throttle valve controller Jams briefly
2CED: Throttle valve controller Jame permanently
2CEF: Throttle valve activation
2D09: Throttle supply not correct

I think these maybe separate

2DEB: power management network failure
3100: charging pressure control switch off

Other notable symptoms,

Engine surging
Slight Oil dripping from the exhaust
Oil in the engine bay (Right side this started prior to the fault initially thought cracked charge pipe)
Sound of an air leak (sounds like a suction sound)

Also, it won't start on the first try, normally takes a couple goes.

This was a sudden fault haven't had any other issues with the car so far.

Camshaft issue easy solution, replace sensors.
Throttle body seems like it could be a shot sensor too.

Oil dripping from exhaust or onto exhaust??!!

If oil is dripping out of exhaust then you got yourself some major issues.

Take this damn car to a good bmw shop and have them check it out.

Have you checked you battery? Is it supplying the right voltage?

+1,000,000 for above, plus check vacuum lines and charge pipe. Charge pipe could be cracked (your suction sound)

Before anything run a load test on your battery if it has not been replaced yet. These cars throw bunch of error codes when battery is bad.

Cheers Guys!

The first thing I did was change the battery (and register it) unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue.

I'm replacing the charge pipe this week as I'm pretty confident this has got a leak.

Although I'm starting to think there is a sensor issue also. Cam inlet or Vanos?

Would this make sense?

Are you referring to cam inlet sensors?

I had a mess with my (former) '06 330xi and it was the camshaft positioning sensor. I heard from many others that this part was the culprit for there problems i.e. limp mode. Replaced it and BINGO!

It turned out to be the alternator. Oil had leaked onto it due to a bad gasket and caused the voltage to surge/under perform which intern caused the limp mode.
