Yeah it needs replaced. 187k miles. Bought car with 125k not sure if it's ever been replaced. Just pulled it out and it's a Valeo 180 amp. Theirs one on esc tuning for 349,99 but it's a 185 amp.
My local Indy wants 840 to replace it. My other Indy wanted 760 so.. |

I'm on my phone so I can't paste the link, but I wrote a DIY for the N52 back in December 2016. I went through the whole rating thing too. It's the 185 Amp unit.

Where can I find the guide? I've already pulled it so yeah pretty sure I'll be able to do it myself. I pulled out a valeo 180a. Local store says they have one in stock for 324,99 so much better than the $840 I was quoted lol. Than Ecs tuning has one for $349 but it's a 185 amp. Will the amps make that much of a difference? I'm thinking about his picking up the 180a valeo that was taken out of the car. |

More amps shouldn't be a problem as long as the mounting and connectors are all the same.

Get the 185 unit.
