Guidance on yet another misfire issue

EDIT: DATALOGS ADDED, POST #10.

MORE RECENT OCCURENCE THREAD:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1390802

Hey gang, sorry to add yet another thread on misfires, but I thought that I had fixed this three times now and each time it comes back about 24 hours later.

Back story-
Some light rough idling, and some very very light misfires in all manners of driving; WOT, rolling on to the throttle, cruising before any major issues popped up, and no SES lights at this time. So I didn't think much of it, chalked it up as needing new plugs, swapped them, seemed improved.

I did my homework on maintenance for the N54 and knew I was coming up on needing to do the intake valves. I started throwing intermittent SES lights, so bit the bullet and cleaned the intake valves. Followed the DIY for carb cleaner and brushes method, came out nice and clean. Put it all back together, fired it up, SES from the moment I started it but the car ran great, nice and smooth, improved response, everything everyone says after doing it.

The next day I start it to go to work and it bogs and misfires like crazy. Still steady SES. Check all vacuum lines and intake joints with carb cleaner, everything's solid. Start checking plugs. Cyl2 has no ground electrode on it, all the rest are perfect and pretty, almost could have sold them as new. Swap plug 2 for a fresh. Car runs amazing. Next day, dog shit. Start checking coil packs. No change in performance on 1 and 2 when DC'ed and swapped. Change them out, car runs great, next day, like shit.

So, finally, I went and did what I should have from the jump and got codes read.

All the ones were there I figured for misfires -

P0300 Random misfire detected
P0300 Random misfire detected
P0301 Cyl 1
P0302 Cyl 2
P0303 Cyl 3
P0304 Cyl 4

BUT! Also on there were these...

P0140 - O2 Circuit No activity detected (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
P0175 - System too rich (Bank 2)

I felt I was being systematic in figuring this out but don't want to keep throwing money every where when now that O2 sensor code is there and rich code.

Should I start at replacing the O2 sensor? Could that be the root of all these issues?

I can't believe two NEW coil packs died and 3 plugs in a few days or do I just not understand the way the DME handles these issues?

TIA to anyone willing to lend some advice or a hand. Really frustrated and the car has been amazing up until this point.

Oh, modifications on the vehicle -

Upgrades:
- Rob Beck Turbos
- Vishnu PWM Methanol System
- Vishnu Procede 2.5
- AR Resonated *** Downpipes
- Upgraded Clutchmasters Single Mass flywheel and Clutch (new)
- Stett Charge pipe, Meth bungs, diverter valves
- Helix Intercooler
- Dual Cone Air Intakes
- Clutch Delay Valve
- water pump, serpentine belt, Alternator recently replaced

Thanks again!

Joey

I would check the fuel injectors next. Have you had those changed in your ownership of this car? When my fuel injectors were giving me issues, I had a whole mess of codes.

Thanks guys! I'm aware of all the possibilities that it could be, but would like to make the most educated guess on what it could be.

Is there any way to narrow it down? Is there a way to test injectors? I've only changed the oil, filters, and tires so far.

How do you log? I purchased the vehicle as is and have done nothing but some routine maintenance on the vehicle. Pardon my ignorance. I am more than capable but have just never done these things. I know where the port is on the vehicle for doing the logs....

OK! Think I got some reliable pulls. One showing the extreme condition I get sometimes and then how it runs well sometimes. Both extremes of the car's running happened back to back. The car has almost run perfect with SES on all day. Went out for datalogs, felt good, began run, bogged and misfired and barely got to 4500. pulled over, shut it off and waited a minute. Turned it back on, did two runs, car almost felt perfect.

What's the best way for me to get the datalogs on here for you guys to view?

Upload it to Datazap. Then copy the link to it and post it here.

OP, you'll melt your cats if you let that misfire keep happening as you're dumping raw fuel to the cat which mets the catalyst.

Is the car tuned?

Have you tried resetting adaptations?

I know this may sound dumb, but how old is your battery? I had similar, weird electrical issues with my Saab if the battery was pulling voltage levels down.

New battery, purchased about 6 months ago, new alternator approximately 2 yrs ago.

Appreciate the thought! No issues on cranking or any other battery related issues I would notice from the driver's seat.

what areyou using the log.

would need to see rpm, lpfp, hpfp, wg duty cycle, boost.

that way you can see if fuel pressure from either the low pressure (in tank) or high pressure (engine) fuel pump's are dropping fuel pressure while in boost. plus also a bunch of other readouts i dont see you logged for on the datazap log.

im not too familiar with the Procede and how you datalog with it. so on that part, im not really sure how you pick the engine parameters you want to log before you do your test pulls.

I'll check and see if I can log those and will post back Monday. I'm a little nervous I won't be able to get a full log how the car is running,
