CSi is perfect. I'd love a low-mileage example.

My only gripe with the 8er was that the majority of them have terribly ugly wheels.

Sort of like saying you'd take a Miata over a Ferrari F12. Wildly different cars.

But having said that, I'd take an S54 Z3 M Coupe over either.

I saw one of these in Downtown Atlanta two days ago. I've only seen one other one a few years ago.
They look nice, but they have tiny kidney grills that caused a second look before I recognized it.

Is this the same car that Avery Brooks drove in the old Spenser for Hire TV show? Perhaps not; that show was in the late 80's. UPDATE - I think it was a 635: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-For-Hire-E24s

Such a fan of the 840/850 when it came out in my late teens. I saw a fair few in South a London where I grew up. Didn't realize the difference with the csi version. Cool to hear. I would love one but I hear they are costly to get maintained and some are a little tired!

Saw xp-3 McLaren being delivered (aka the 3rd ever) in South Croydon.... the guy stopped to use a pay phone (remember those). I got to see that engine incased in gold... something I will never forget.... oh and my Dad overtook it in a mini Metro....

It's a legend, alive and well by the sound of the gorgeous V12. E31 is just beautiful cars. I remember Robert de niro drove one in a film also, can't remember the name of it though

Great video. One of my all time favorite BMWs... The 850CSi was a true dream car.

I knew a doctor years ago that had an 8 series with the Alpina style wheels. I used to go out to the parking lot and just stare at it. Every time I saw him the first words out of my mouth were, "how's the car?"

I'd love to have one... But maintaining a rare car like this with a v12 engine, must be outrageous.

That would be in the Canada scenes from the Edward Norton/Bobby De Niro heist movie, "The Score", my friend... I think it was black or dark green?'
