I developed a s-st-stutter...

2010 N54 E90 - JB4, VRSF 7" FMIC, BMS DCI

So I've had misfire issues for about 3 months, usually limited to cold starts, multiple cylinders - a few at a time coupled with a 29CC code (several cylinders). Each cylinder has thrown a code at some point during that time span.

Within the past week, I've swapped in some new index 12 injectors and NGK plugs.
Within the past 10k miles, I've also done the coils and had walnut blasting done.

After doing the injectors and plugs, the misfire codes thankfully disappeared however now the car has hesitation/stutter/acts like it's misfiring at lower RPMs (1k-3k). The car no longer throws any codes but it didn't present this behavior prior to the injectors and plugs. As a note, I double-checked all of the injector values that I coded via INPA and all was well.

From what I've been seeing on the forums, the HPFP could be another place to look but I'm pretty sure that would throw a code.

I'm not really sure where to focus my attention at this point. Suggestions?

maybe try doing a simple adaptation reset?

And I don't think the hpfp would throw you a code, just go into soft dick mode when it goes out. Take some logs and check it out.

Update: On my commute home, the codes started showing up. Misfire on cylinder 5.
  • I checked to see if I either mis-gapped that plug or didn't fully seat the coil afterward. Nope and nope. (I threw in another brand new NGK just to be sure)
  • Tried to reset adaptations using JB4. No dice.
  • Reset adaptations + Pedal trick. Still no luck.

Side note: I know you were just giving me crap, but I now feel the need to mention that the title was a nod to the movie Big Daddy.
