Good Morning everyone, I recently replaced my rear tires that where running Super Sports and replaced them with the Hankook evo2 V12. My front's are still using Super Sports because lot of tread is still available. Since replacing the rears I noticed above 65+MPH my car feels "Floaty" for lack of better words..Feels like a boat in the water, lot of steering play, when I change lanes the rear feels like its trying to catch up....

My question is; could the issue be the result of running 2 different brands on my car? Or maybe Shocks and Bushings issue that's starting to arise>? Thanks In advance.



Alignment was Performed during New Rear tires Installation.

255/30ZR19 Rear
225/35ZR19 Front

Firstly, I'd make sure your pressures are around 36psi in the rear.

It certainly could be a difference in sidewall stiffness though this sounds worse than just that. I'd check your rear shocks then bushings.

Currently the PSI in the rear is at 41psi per Door Sticker...Running 19' rims, should I still try 36psi in rear? Thanks

Run whatever your sticker says, I was thinking 18s.

In my experience new on the back, old on the front will give you that slight feeling - less so on a staggered setup. When I had a square setup on my old car I'd rotate the new tyres to the front each time.

Changing wheel sizes, tire sizes has NOTHING to do with changing PSI you should use. Always run the cars PSI under normal drivibg conditions. I still have no clue why people continue to think they should deviate from the car's PSIs. The PSI is what the car needs to have the suspension operate correctly. The tires work fine over a range. The correct point in thst range is determined by the car, mostly by its weight. Do not think you should over inflate or under inflate vs the car's specs. You will just hurt mph, tire wear, handling, etc.

Now another reason the floaty feeling is there is you went from a stiff sidewall to a flexible one.
