Uk gap insurance
What have folk done for this? Bmw offering return to invoice one for £440 but car2cover has vehicle replacement one for £300 odd. Also can do tyre insurance with car2cover for about another £300.

Always used www.gapinsurance.co.uk
Good helpful service, offer return to invoice or replacement car, and competitive. They now offer tyre and wheel cover as well....I would have tyre cover as the cost of the policy for three years is the cost of one tyre, and I always have needed at least two, but that's insurance, it's a gamble.

No admin fee...
6mm tread or better 100 % of the tyre cost, 2-6 mm 50 %. On my last two cars I've had more back than the cost of the insurance, guess I'm unlucky. Run flats seem to be more vulnerable to tirewall damage and punctures, and you can't repair them either..

am about to order a G30 and will look at this (didn't do this for my previous new car). But certianyl won't get it from a BMW dealer as I suspect it will not be the cheapest. The other option is to ask for teh car insurance to cover it back to a replacement new car possibly?

Your car insurance will normally cover a car replacement for the first 12 months, but check in your policy document that is the case, they may put a mileage limit which will mean that this runs out sooner.
GAP kicks in to cover you from when your insurance won't provide a new car , most GAP policies allow you to defer to take this into account, but you must buy the GAP insurance when the car is new, within a few days of delivery. I found BMW GAP was 50-100% more expensive than from a specialist provider. Is it worth having?...my last car, F10 535d, still owed £33k on the finance, but its market value was around £23k...so if I'd had an accident that was my fault and it was written off, I'd have been in the hole for £10k. Against that a 4 year replacement car GAP, so not only is the £10k covered but also back to the new car price, for £350 , seemed like worth the money to me. Hope this helps

Hi all. Thanks for the responses. Yes gap is definitely worth it. I hadn't realised there was a return to invoice as well as replacement car. The replacement car is better since if car prices are higher when the accident happens compared to when you bought it they'll pay for the higher price. Return to invoice just does stated invoice price.
In my case I'll do the tyre insurance coz although I'll be sitting with 8 summer tyres very soon, the winters are v expensive and if even one puncture occurs - it'll pay for itself.
