Also, any problems with longevity and maintenance with cleaning alcantara? Heard oils from our hands can sometimes be a problem

I'm thinking about getting an add-on wrap, either leather or s/t padded. I have the base wheel and it gets kind of hard on a long drive. Wearing driving gloves just seems kind of a bit much.

I know this is resurrecting an old thread but the eBay seller Ledermanz is a great option to customize the standard BMW steering wheel. I did this last week and am very happy with the price and results. Installed myself in about 30 mins. Heated as well.

I ended up getting an m2 shortly after this, but did just recently install the m performance steering wheel. It's not listed as being compatible for the 2er, but I can't see why it wouldn't be after going through the installation myself. Believe I've seen a 2er with it as well. Definitely a nice option to the full alcantara wheels.

Works like a champ. I used a non Apple cable (to get a lower profile connection to the power port) and that required some dremelling of the hole for the lightning connector. Otherwise really happy with this gizmo.

But how does the cable connect to the car?
