Why doesn't idrive recognise my iPod?

So why doesn't my idrive recognise my iPod classic when connected via USB?

I've tried numerous cables from apple original too nelken and others.

It worked in my 5er

Any thoughts.

See this list of products that Apple no longer supports.

Basically, Apple deprecates support for "Vintage" or "Obsolete" products 7 years or older. That currently includes any click-wheel iPod as well as the 30-pin connector.

The new version of iDrive reflects the deprecation list above at the time of release. So, basically: any click-wheel or 30-pin Apple device will not work with iDrive 4.0.
