Brake fluid change

Could anyone tell me if the brake fluid change on my 3 series F31 Touring is a straighforward pressure bleed job, or do you need software to open any valves. Been let down bigtime (again) by BMW servicing this morning. Would rather do it myself and know its done than trust them. Thanks for any advice

Very straightforward. Fit pressure bleeder; 20psi. Use a catch bottle connected by tubing and a push-fit rubber connector to the bleed valve.

Just be careful undoing the nipples - some here have had problems with corroded nipples shearing off.

Yup. Just bear in mind that if you are doing the work yourself and the bleed nipple shears off, you are not going to be able to make a warranty claim - they can quite easily turn around and say it's down to your competence (or lack of). Whereas if they screw it up in their workshop, you've got a very good argument for a free repair.

Sheared nipples only applicable to M Sport brakes as far as I remember.
