"Secret" Service menu not coming up

So I want to try to monitor my battery voltage, so I attempted to use the service menu today. The first try I held down the odometer button and the menu came up, I started scrolling through but I guess I didn't scroll fast enough and the menu went away.

Now every time I attempt to bring the menu back up it never appears. Sometime a warning triangle will flash, but the menu won't come back up.

Am I doing something wrong, anyone else have this issue?
