Error codes and half engine light
To start off my car has a jb4 and intake.
So yesterday afternoon I throttled to like 75% on map 1 on a straight road. After I let off the gas, a quarter mile later I got an error on the navigation screen " Engine malfunction ..Reduced power.. etc." Car still felt fine, but I drove lightly and pulled in to park somewhere. Threw three codes at first but then two remained - I dont remember the code but it was a speed determining one i think - 2c57 - 2c90 Checked for the notorious charge pipe crack but couldnt see or feel anything. Read about checking passenger side intercooler pipe but haven't had the chance to check that. Where else can I look for the problem? Thanks --------------UPDATE-------------- Ordered and installed phoenix charge pipe. Cleared codes and tested it out on freeway. Managed to it 10 psi on Map 5. Then switched to Map 1 and threw half check engine light again. I'm thinking its the jb4 and I'm taking it off tomorrow. Last edited by xxMike61; 05-18-2017 at 07:28 PM.. |

Sounds like a boost leak. Do you have all stock charge piping? Stock intercooler? I had a leak at the up pipe to charge pipe coupler after IC install.

Stock charge pipe and intercooler. Was putting off the aftermarket charge pipe till later but I guess I'll get one now and hopefully it fixes the problem.
What about the half engine light? |

That's what caused the half engine light. If it broke the chargepipe, you would have no boost pressure. The 2C90 code is normal though, I had that code constantly with my JB4 stage 1
