Muffler Delete Mod: Tips
So I definitely want to do the muffler delete mod and I've been looking around at all the different tips people have used. I'm not really a fan of the magnaflow ones that everybody has used... they look to plain to me. My favorite are these, which I found in the muffler delete media thread...
What tips are these? Is it just two of these? Do they just make their own Y-pipe when doing the muffler delete? Any additional pictures of various tips (besides the ones in the media thread) are welcome here!

that's koreez88's car. you should send him a PM. iirc, his tips are made by magnaflow as well.

Koreez88 replied and said that those are in fact the same tips that he personally used. He said that he actually used 2 of the 7.5 inch tips (Part number 35123), but recommended using 2 4.5 inch tips (Part number 35125) for better fitment and easier installation.
This picture is of his install job... I assume his shop just made a custom Y-pipe to connect the two separate tips...

Anybody ever consider not using a dual tip? Is it just too un-BMW like for anyone to consider?
I had a pair of Magnaflow mufflers on my last ride (dual exhaust) with 4" round rolled tips and they looked great. I'm seriously considering using a single tip for my upcoming exhaust delete.

Not sure if I'd go 4" but the idea is to go with a single instead of dual.
There's not a single example of a 330 / 325 / 328 of anything but dual tips. A single would at least be unique for a BMW

That'd be great! I'd love to see it!
So how do you like the muffler delete? I'm right on the edge of pulling the trigger to do it but am a bit worried about it being way too loud. I did spot some oval tips from Pilot Automotive that have a perforated resonator lining. I wonder if that would tone it down just a bit. Any thoughts?

[/QUOTE] Looks really nice to me! Maybe it's just because all single exhaust Bimmers have the dual tip and this is just different. The oval fills the bumper cutout like it was made for it. If I go for the delete I'm definetely doing an oval tip! I talked with a custom exhaust shop yesterday and the guy suggested trying the delete and if it's too loud putting a Cherry Bomb glass pack in place of the resonator and leaving the delete piping. When I was a kid, glass packs were hot sounding (at least on the V8's we'd put em on). One way or another the Cherry Bomb is really inexpensive so it wouldn't be a huge financial hit to try. The guy thinks it would have an awesome sound. Hmmmm
