All ConnectedDrive Apps launching automatically on iPhone

This started happening 2-3 weeks ago. Anytime I start the car with the iPhone connected via USB, all connected drive apps will launch on their own. It's very annoying as Connected, LapTimer, Pandora and Spotify all launch in the foreground so I need to dismiss some pop ups and swipe back 4 apps to put Waze in focus again. I didn't manually update iDrive but maybe it was OTA without me noticing.

Notes:
A guy in the x6 forums mentioned the same thing with no helpful replies in early March.

Found it on the f80 forums as well, said to be 10.3+ issue: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=21539174

I'm using an iPhone 7 running 10.3.2 Beta 5. I would say it's probably a beta issue that will be worked out but my friend took delivery this weekend of a 340 and he has the same problem on iOS 10.3.1.

Any ideas?

I have this exact same issue. Shortly after starting the engine, Audible followed by Spotify followed by BMW Connected open up.

In a similar vein, Pandora used to autoplay when I started the car no matter what media playback option was selected. This was a few months ago when I had the app installed on my phone. I have since deleted it.

And another thing that I experience when I was last playing music from my phone via Bluetooth. When I start up the car and phone via Bluetooth is selected, iDrive auto plays the first song alphabetically in my song library. I hate that song now.

Oh, and I'm currently on 10.3.1, not sure what I was on when the issues started.

No ideas, but thanks for the heads up.. Your post finally stopped me from trying to unsuccessfully pair a iPhone 7 (10.3.1) to the car anymore.. One can only sit in the car and hope so many times...

I apparently had no idea that the Bluetooth framework was so elusive and mysterious.... The hundreds of device pairings and successful operations apparently have a gift and true purpose from a much darker source...

*ooooh....spooky*

This is happening to me too. One main reason why I just stick to CarPlay via wireless.

I think this is expected behavior now with the new connected drive app and iOS.

You can delete the connected drive app and install the old one and see if it still happens.

Culprits can be:

iOS update
Idrive update
New connected drive app

Hard to downgrade iOS or idrive version so probably can't test those.

Well I figured out why all the apps were launching, at least in my case. If you go to your phones profile in the My Vehicle menu, you'll see a checkbox next to 'Apps'. Once I unchecked that box, the apps stop opening up automatically when I started the car.

Now if I can just figure out how to stop the first song, alphabetically, in my library from autoplaying...

But won't this completely disable the apps from connecting at all? If I de-select the "Apps" checkbox, will Spotify, Audible, etc. still load on ConnectedDrive if I enter the car (wireless)/plug my iPhone in?

Correct, the apps won't show up as media options in iDrive anymore, but you can still play media from them via your phone.

Anyone find anymore information on this? It's really starting to annoy me.

Good news - this seems to be resolved with iOS 11. I have not had the chance to do any testing to try and break it but have not had it happen once since I updated last week to the GM.

Just updated to ios11 last night and this morning all the apps opened again. It actually seemed like they loaded slower :/

I've had it happen only once and it looked like maybe a new version of Connected loading up. Are you still consistently seeing it?

Anyone ever figure out a way to stop the first song in your iOS music library from automatically playing? I only have a single song in there (my alarm) since I used Spotify for everything else so it's fairly annoying.
