New to the forum...335xi

Hey guys. Going from reading the forums to joining. Wanted to introduce myself. Recent purchase of a 2013 335xi M-sport. Black with saddle. Made some small cosmetic changes. Looking forward to some future mods and possible future posts.

Much appreciated. Was looking for white with coral, but then I found this one and had to grab it. Very clean, at least after a good cleaning and wax. some minor touch ups required, but that is to be expected with 108K (not a type-o).

Again...thanks!

Congrats on your purchase! Welcome to the forum.

Just a little friendly note, before you ask people for suggestions or advice, it’s always better to first search for specifically what you are looking for otherwise you will get not so friendly replies to a subject that has already been to beaten death like a dead horse. There is a great deal of info on this site that will give you lots of ideas on how to customize your ride or info on problems or issues you can address should you encounter any later on down the road.

One thing you will notice about this site, and other similar sites, is there are lot of problem related posts. Don’t let all these fool you into thinking that you'll be riddled with frequent problems which you will be going to be bringing it in for repairs month after month after month of every year you own it. That is not case. These problem posts only represent a small percentage of cars whereas the majority are problem free because when there are no problems, there's nothing to talk about and therefore you don't hear from the majority of the non-problem owners.
Yes. You will need to have something fixed due to normal wear and tear, but as long as you keep it well maintained, it will be reliable as for however long you plan to own it.

Bought my 2010 E92 335 brand sparkling new and haven't had any major issues or problems with it since the first day I drove it home. Only had some minor things to replace throughout the years in addition to the regular preventive maintenance.
I have a trusted mechanic who I bring it to anytime I need to have something serviced or repaired.

If you can find a trusted indy mechanic who you can bring it to, besides the dealership, find one or know someone who can help you find one.
They take the time to do things right.

Enjoy that ride.

I am well aware of people that get negative comments from simply asking for advice or their opinions. People get offended very easily or are just flat out mean. You can easily pick up when someone is truly being genuine, or maybe I like to think that I can. Thank you for the heads up though. I have already searched the forum for some questions I have had and it was very useful.

I have had the ride for 3 months now and love it. Single previous owner and all work done at the same dealership puts a lot of apprehension to rest when buying a car that has over 100k miles on it. Now I need to find a good independent!

Close to 109K. Added the high kick spoiler. found out the hard way on the rear tint dot matrix issue. thought the rear window spoiler would cover it, but it literally covers half...lol. oh well. 30% tint. F30 side marker. LED fogs. Smoked side reflectors. Blacked out kidneys. Again, all cosmetic. Next task: code a bunch. My LEDs are throwing a code, so that is #1 priority. Tried to install HID fogs with cancellers and they didn't work, so I gave up. I am walking on egg shells when it comes to things I read about, i.e. water pump and gaskets and oil coolers. Matter of time? Again, need to find a good independent. Its pretty quick, but maybe a cold air intake after the coding.

Any suggestions?

Sweet color combo!
Just my opinion man, please don't be offended, I think you badly need couple things to make it look perfect:
1. Front lip
2. A drop. Given yours is x-drive you need a drop even more than anyone else imho

Not offended. looked into both actually. Might do the lip if I end up painting the front end. with the miles, you cant see all the rock chips. I have heard the x-drive sits higher, but these Ohio roads suck. I feel every bump on the road. Also read to replace the run flats. Thinking of a drop when I need new tires and some spacers to get a more aggressive stance. might as well, since the warrant expired a lifetime ago. Thanks for the advice and I appreciate all the compliments on the color combo. I got lucky.

Yes, Run Flats have extremely hard sidewalls and changing them for good tires will feel like a major upgrade - from my experience it was like a night and day. What's more interesting is that i went from stock 16 inch rims with Run Flats to 18 inch with Conti tires and I thought ride would suffer due to lower profile tires, but it actually got better - just shows how harsh Run Flats are

Thanks!

It took a day or two to be allowed to post, but I am no authority. These other guys have been around way longer. Sure they can tell you how to post.

Sorry for a bit of off-topic, I know it's not the lip you are looking for and she has e93 instead of e92, but I just love watching her doing things

Hopefully someone can post their best looking lips for M sport bumper
