Just about to order....
First time on these forums, but I'm just about to push the button on the following upgrade/downgrade?? from a 2014 X6 M50D to:
440i GC LCI M performance body kit in black carbon, 20" wheels Snapper Blue (love it or hate it should look good with the bodykit) Carbon and pearl interior (still not sure on that) Black Dakota with dark oyster all extras except: heated steering concierge online services towbar Heating rear Digital cockpit (I wanted HUD) Does anyone have any constructive criticism on the above? I also seem to be getting the run around with figures, they keep changing them...what sort of discount should I realistically be looking at? Thanks in advance. |

Purely personal but my local dealer has a 4 series coupe in Snapper. I'm really not sure it suits the car. More a hot hatch colour. But if you like it. that's what matters.

Heated Steering Wheel will be the first thing on my list when I replace my F36. For only ~£150 you never want cold hands again

I saw two yesterday at Specialist Cars in Tring, one 440i GC and the other I think was a 420D coupe. Looks nice to me but could be considered an "acquired taste"

First on my option list would be the Individual Merino leather. Dakota leather is known as hippo hide for a reason, and its only £1200.
Not sure about the colour choice... but each to their own. Drive the Deal will give you an idea of what price to aim for. Last edited by Postcab; 05-03-2017 at 09:23 AM.. |

Definitely stick on the steering wheel, it's great for £150 and you'll use it more than you think.
If you can get Digital dash with HUD as above, then I'd add that too. Coast2CoastCars is also a good way to keep the dealer honest on pricing |

I asked about the HUD and digital Dash, based on these forums, and they said no. If I can drive the price down more I would have merino, but I have kids...and I have heard merino could be problematic? all though I could just get rid of the kids...pays for itself then

OP surely likes the colour so that's cool. IMO though also never quite Long Beach Blue on the M2 and its very very similar, not my cup of tea.
The car itself OP sounds absolutely fantastic!!!! Press that button. |

Merino is thinner and prone to scratches and wrinkles, requires much more care? if this is not the case...then I may change my mind and go Merino...although I opted for leather dash so that's going to increase the price 2k +

I have told them this, and they say that they cant order it...I will try and push them again and see what they say. Still not convinced by the heated steering wheel though
I guess the purists say that analogue dials are the way to go anyway! |

Wears badly though or at least mine has/is. Had the seat back replaced at 16000 miles and now spotted more wear on the base at just short of 19000 miles. Not impressed. Opal White for info.

You CAN order both digital cockpit and HUD.
Initially I ordered just the HUD but was then told they were now talking orders on both together and had a fix for the initial compatibility problems. For £250 it's a no brainer for me. Great spec by the way, let me know when you get a delivery date! We seem to be in a similar position, albeit I'm coming from a 640d. I've also gone mad on the options list and I've ordered the similar M Performance stuff - have you ordered the MPPSK too? I think you will need it as I don't think it's quick enough without or loud enough. Oh have you seen your trim in person? I think the Piano looks better too, but personal preference.

I have seem the kit on a white demonstrator, 430i, which I took out for a test drive, looks good.
I didn't know about the MPPSK until recently not sure whether to get it or not, and no idea on the cost, still pondering the merino leather...asked if they would upgrade me for 1k...see what happens! This is basically the car I have ordered in terms of looks: https://www.opptrends.com/wp-content...es-830x418.jpg no m performance kit on there, but same wheels and that's a coupe not a GC. I'm guessing you can get the MPPSK at a later date? may look at the upgrade next year. |

Haha yes that's the car that convinced me to go with the carbon stuff.
Sytner Nottingham offered the MPPSK to me for £1800 which is a good deal. I've gone Merino as I really don't like the Dakota in my 640d and miss the Nappa leather that was in my C63. I'm hoping it will be as nice, and if you see some of the pics / video of the stitching on the doors etc. for the Merino it looks epic.

Dakota is spray painted, which can lead to cracking, but Merino is dyed. My Merino has been absolutely fine (Cashmere). |
