Just wondering if remote key roof operation is a something that ca be coded or is it case of needed a plugin module. Roof being the covertible opening / closing on a 4 series

Roof? Convertible?

Moonroof does not have separate module.
Convertible top does.
You should not need extra hardware to control, unless you are looking to open or close while moving.

Its more to get similar functions as to the f30 plus ability to close roof and fold mirros from the key. Seems right now only can open all windows by holding unlock. Holding lock will not fold mirrors or bring windows up either

Considering its a 2016 plate well specced M sport model it has less options on the key than my F30 from 2014

You need a smart top module I got one
Open and closes windows with remote
Open and closes the roof with remote
Open and closes roof with one touch so no more holding the button
And one touch all windows up as well
