Brave colour combinations
Was in Munich over the weekend and spotted a new LCI 4-series convertible in Snapper Rocks Blue with the Cognac leather, being driven top-down.
Didn't get time to take a snap as I was also driving but take it from me, that's definitely a brave colour combination. The SNB is already quite a flashy colour (although looked pretty smart on a convertible in sparkling sunshine) and adding orangey-brown leather is...well...much as I like the cognac leather...not the choice I would make. Seen any other "brave" combinations lately?

SNB suits Opal and Ivory the most I think, but black would work. The only problem with black is will fade a little if not really managed in a convertible. I'd go for something crazy given the choice and cash. I came close to buying a pre-reg Signal Green M4 from Sytner until my brain took over given the crazy monthlies!

Love the superman EBII / Coral Red combo in mine. IMO the CR looks much better in real and lifts the interior. Makes the car feel that little different and more special, even though it's just another F30 M Sport. I'm surprised BMW didn't make these a cost option. Wasn't EB an individual colour back in the E46 days?

I think Coral as an interior choice (which I have) on any colour is pretty brave. I always remember once seeing a Leguna Seca M3 with matching interior leather once, now that was brave!!! Not sure if it was aftermarket though? Last edited by Beancounter_74; 05-02-2017 at 11:17 AM.. |

Yes...and with brown seats too...
Can't help thinking that even if you liked that colour, you'd get bored of it sooner or later. I'd have gone Ruby Red or Oxford Green myself, had I been minded to fork out for Individual paint. I saw a Ruby Red 435i GC on the M3 last year and it looked fantastic.

No, the above is an M3 in Techno Violet which could be worse.
The OP's colour choice is this: Thread can be found here, apologies for my laziness http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...hlight=unicorn

It's beyond me how anyone can order an M3 in this tasteful a combination and then go for such a tasteless numberplate:

It's beyond me why all-black leather interiors are popular, other than with those with messy infant children. They are just gloomy. How many people have an all-black interior to their house?
Plus why spec your car for the next buyer. Surely the point of buying new is to have exactly what you want (or as near as dammit)?

Dealers are just tw@ts, they'll come up with any excuse to reduce your trade in value. "Your Type R doesn't have leather seats." "Erm, hello... leather wasn't an option and never will be on a Type R!".
