TPMS sensor problem

Hey, my rear valve won't seem to take any air, it was getting low then after pumping it up and seemed to drop about 4 psi straight away. I had this with another one but BMW tightened it up which works ok now. They did it on this one and said if it leaks again it's probably because I'm using non genuine wheels? But anyway if it's not taking air it sounds like it may be faulty? If so can I get a normal valve put on in the mean time as I won't be able to use my car u till I order a new one? Thanks

The seal on the valve stem is a common failure item. A normal valve would be fine in the mean time. Sometimes they nut is over torqued and that too can cause problems. 8nm is the correct torque.

It has nothing to do with non genuine wheels so don't buy the BS. However, if a wheel has been poorly refurbished and there is excess paint where the valve goes them this too can make the valve fit poorly and result in a slow leak - happened with me anyway.

Ok cool I'll go get one fitted tomorrow. Does anyone know the replacement part number for a 335i? I'll look on eBay as they are about 50 quid from bmw

You don't need the actual TPMS. You need the valve seal / repair kit from
£6-14. Try real oem. I hope Teaston will chime in.

Ok cool, I've just seen that on eBay. Can a normal tyre place fit the repair kit or will BMW have to do it?

Good question. My local family friendly fitter wouldn't normally touch it but he managed to borrow a kit for me. The majority of tyre change places do have the tools though.

The latter was correct for mine as I have continental run flats. The difference between that one and the first one was that the first one was slightly longer.. it still fit but my tyre guy said it would protrude more. We tried both and I kept the continental one. Both fit if I remember. May be give BMW a call to verify the one for you.
