Bilstein for Xdrive?

This is driving me crazy, I cannot seem to find a B12 or B14 kit for the F30 Xdrive.
Can somebody please confirm if a B12 or B14 kit from a Sdrive would fit the Xdrive?

Yes I understand the spring rates and damping will not be perfect if installed.... but I don't care, I would rather this then installing lowering springs on the stock dampers!

ACS springs very popular and actually perform amazingly or are you set on the Bilstein?

Because they cost too much and I don't need the adjustment.
I ran B14s before and they were just amazing.

If I could find out if there really is any physical difference stopping me from installing 2wd coilovers on the xdrive I would be grateful.

after hours of searching and using google translate, I have managed to finally find the actual Bilstein B12 kit for the Xdrive 335d!

E90-20-031-06-22

Can find for around £530 on ebay

Still curious about the fitment differences to the regular 2wd models

do you not want to use the stock shockers because of how wallowy the car is on them?

Bird's B3x kit is a custom valved Bilstein damper, to suit their spring kit. Short of getting a coil over about as well matched as you can get. A couple of hundred quid more though. They replace bump stops with their springs as well.

Having changed springs-only for 8k miles and then later the dampers, I can understand why you'd want to change them. Whilst cruising on the motorway the improvement is slight, but push on and the dampers are a big a step forward as fitting the springs alone.

What I find when pushing mine down bumpy country lanes is that the ACS are a massive improvement over stock but the dampeners bottom out too easy now over dips. Get it wrong and it sounds ands feels like a strut is popping through the bonnet

This would be my option if anyone doesn't want to go down the route of coilovers.

Otherwise, buy a set of ACS springs and some B6 dampers.

I just don't see the point, they are obviously softly damped and the cost to switch the springs is more than it is to swap the complete units.

I have used Bilstein in my previous car and I cannot put into words how fantastic they were, transformed a dull Audi in to something fun.

Dan

See this thread, esp post #16, it appears the kit offered would fit across the RWD/AWD range. There does appear to be a difference between stabiliser/drop link for x drives, and the front damper bracket may or may not be on all after market dampers.

That thread seems to show that the major difference is between passive/adaptive in terms of fitting.

Yeh see M40CCA post above, that is exactly what my car is like now, but still 10000 times better then stock SE springs - they are dangerous

If you've had the pleasure of top quality dampers on a car before then anything less on the F30 cars will be a waste. Springs are an improvement, but too quality dampers at least as much improvement again.
