Tyre valve leak
I've been losing air very slowly the past couple of weeks so took the car to a garage today and found the valve stem seal was leaking.
I called the local dealer who confirmed they had the part on the shelf (£18)... perfect. The parts guy points out as car is still under warranty so I could get it done at the dealership and puts me through to service who tell me the earliest they can fit me in is next Wednesday despite the fact I'm happy to sit and wait while they swap the valve over. As I need my car for work, I mentioned calling Bmw recovery to try to sway them into doing it sooner and the service bod says great idea... damn I was only trying to call their bluff. Anyway, after getting home I call the recovery line and my car has now been collected and moved the monumental 1.5 miles to cooper and i'm currently waiting for a courtesy car which they've hired for wait for it... 5 days. All because they can't shoehorn in 30 minutes to resolve the tiny issue! All a bit comical really |

Teaston helped me locate the right part on e-bay for £6. Seals and valve genuine continental part. My local tyre fitter did the job for £5 in under 20 minutes. It wasn't worth the stress with dealers and keeping mobile was necessary.
