K2 Karcher

My K2 does not really foam my foam wash even though I have the foam lance. The resulting spray is more suds than thick foam. I dilute the mix, about 25-30ml in the standard 0.6 Ltr foam container....
What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried with a more concentrated mix? Also if it's a professional foam lance have you used the adjustment knob on the lance? If it's a standard bottle I suggest buying a professional attachment. Alternatively buy a nilfisk PW which has a metal pump!

If you are using karchers own foam lance, bin it and get an autobrite one.

With the autobrite stuff they recommended using warm water for the mix

The standard foam lance (FJ6) you get with Karchers isn't great as other have said. The FJ10 is much better or get the Autobrite snowfoam lance which is far superior but so is the price.
Your mix is very weak too at around 5% you need to up it to around 20-30%.
The density of the snowfoam varies between brands. The Autobrite snowfoam is more watery and I don't find it that effective at removing dirt regardless how warm the water is. I prefer Autofiness Snowfoam in combination with the Autobrite lance makes shaving foam thick snowfoam that clings to the car and removes much more dirt whilst using very little of the mix.

Agree with Craig, OP you need a more concentrate solution. I use UF Ultimate Snow Foam and my ratio is 1:5 with warm water. Warm water definitely helps. With the Karcher foam lance you can adjust the water mixture.

My neighbour has the K2 and the Karcher lance. It's a very poor combination, the lance is certainly the weak point.

A mate has the k2 with a similar lance to the one listed above and gets good results. Similar to me with a similar non-Karcher lance and the K4.

Basically the Karcher lance is unfortunately poor.

I have the FJ10 lance and find it spot on. 20% ratio and mix with warm water.

Also totally depends on the foam you are using.

^ This.

The little yellow Karcher lance is utter shite!

Lots of detailing suppliers selling the HD foam lances so shop around.

I use a 10% solution of snow foam in warm water.

Been using the AB lance for years with their snow foam.

http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ind...oam-500ml.html

About 30ml & top up with warm water to 3/4 of the bottle. This gives a nice thick foam that takes the dirt away.

£40 for a nozzle and plastic bottle is a bit steep, but I guess I'll have no choice
I'm using the Gtechniq Foam wash BTW.

Dump the Karcher. They're crap. Get a Nilkisk pressure washer and an Autobrite lance.
