2010 Base upgrade pp82dsp delete rears - harness help

Hello,

2010 328xi Base / Pro HU

Goal: upgrade full active tweet/mid/8" underseat, delete rears, keep all car functions intact. Recode angel eyes while I'm doing the HiFi code.

Have:
-good OBD cable to recode to HiFi
-Bimmertech PP82dsp, custom bracket and OEM amp bracket
-Morel Virtus 402 4" mids/tweet (won't use xovers)
-Match 8" underseats
-OEM trim tweeter sails
-OEM connectors for 2-pole battery hookup (2x 8g)
-4g amp power cable plus split fuse box, ground wires
-OEM connectors to make underseat jumpers
-4" speaker adapters
-deadener for both front doors
-tools

All I need is the harness, and anything I'm not thinking of. Probably I'll run new wire for mids, and use stock mid connections for tweeters. Then run new wire for underseats.

Questions:
-Do I just disconnect the rears and that's that?
-I'm unsure as to the exact harness I need from Technic?
-Do the 8" require spacers? is there a min/max for height? The Match terminate with screws.
-anything I'm missing? I'd like to do this in one shot.

One of the Technic Base Harnesses should work.
https://technicpnp.com/
4/4 or 4/6 harness talk to Technic about it .

You will need to find somebody with an ICOM cable to recode
that model year Head Unit if you want to go that route.
I guess Bimmertech does that for you and I thought they sent
you a Harness to.
So you would only need to run and extra set of wires to the fronts. And modify the tune.
The 82dsp is a Helix product that Bimmertech remarkets as a pretuned kit.(with kit support such as a retune, recode and harness I thought)

If you are not going to hook up the rears then you might want
to hook it up such that the fader is split between the underseats
and front doors.
I thought chimes came through the rears though in which case
you might want to keep the rears.

You only have one item to hook up why would you need a split
power cable setup?

Bimmertech is used, don't have harness to do Base.

Have the coding cable already.

RE: power cable, the OEM connectors are tough to solder in a 4g, but I have a free 2-pole on the battery and running two 8g to the split fuse I already have, then 4g to the amp would work great.

Interesting about the chimes. Can anyone confirm this? I don't want music through the rears, but alerts would be OK.

You need a ICOM Cable to code Hi Fi in any car past 09

read at entry 139 for the base system from Bimmertech description.

You are saying the Bimmergeeks Pro cable won't work?

You better ask them but I don't think so no D/K can cable will work
for this particular task in cars starting around the 2009 onward time
frame. (I wish the exact dates could get nailed down)This has been hashed to death on the coding board. Bimmergeeks is really good about responding to questions.

Anyone else? I'm clear on everything already stated. I've done my homework, just unclear on my specific questions.

Kdcan cable should work for coding, just not flashing.

If you anyway delete the reasr I woul say you should spend the time and put a new cable from the headunit to the amplifier.
You only need 2 channels, so you can open the Quadlock connector and take out the 8 speaker cables and replace them with a signalcable (twisted pair x2) you feed in the amplifier.
After this you need to lay new cables to the under seat woofers - Buy the new Match with dual voicecoil and use channels from the amplifier to this.
Next 2 channels go to the Morel midranges (good choice btw)
Last 2 channels go to the Morel tweeters

With the Helix DSP tool v.3 you can configure and assign the inputs / output accordingly.
(remember to link the 2 channels pr woofer so they do the same work)

Once done you can set the X-over and time alignment pr channel/speaker and listen / meassure before you play with the equalizer.

If done right, you get one killer system!!

have fun!

or you leave them connected to the headunit and fade music to the front.
