DIY: E92 Windows hitting your aluminum trim after battery disconnect
If you have an E92 and disconnect the battery and use your key to get into your car b/c you forgot something inside, you will notice something funky happening to your windows. Be careful shutting your door, as the window won't go down a little bit automatically to miss the aluminum trimming on the exterior. I almost shattered my window a month ago, so I figured I would share this as my SA told me the fix for it over the phone.
Once you get the battery reconnected, start by turning the car fully on. Roll the window down all the way (press and hold the button, do not let the car roll it automatically). Then do the same, making it go up. Do this 3 times and on the last time of rolling the window up, continue holding the button up for 30 seconds. Turn the car off and back on and make sure that the window now goes up and down to miss hitting your aluminum trimming. Quick window fix FTW! Just thought I would share as I almost freaked out a month ago as I couldn;t figure out how to reset it until I called my SA. Hope it helps someone!

if i had to go into the car when in storage and without the battery hooked up, i simply pushed on the top of the glass slightly as i closed it. The glass fit right under the trim without any dmg to the trim or window.

Just open the doors before you disconnect the battery, then close the doors. The windows will clear since they stay down that slight bit when you open the door. That's what I have always done. This is the best way when parked in a garage anyways.
